MediTech MediaTM was founded by Stephen Cameron in 1986 in a windowless basement in Covent Garden, London. Stephen was convinced that science-led HCP-directed content was the future of medical communications, in preference to the advertising-led model of the time.
Following initial successes in Virology and Consumer Health, and after the opening of offices in Manchester and Atlanta, MediTech MediaTM was joined by its new sister agencies – Health Interactions, International Medical Press, and Articulate Science – to form the new Nucleus Global network.
As the first and largest medical communications organisation, Nucleus has defined industry best practice, being, amongst others, a senior members of the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP), and serving as co-authors of the Good Publications Practice (GPP) guidelines. Furthermore, Nucleus staff members have gone on to establish or lead many other major European medical communications agencies.
